(*1 GDS: Global Distribution System — a computerized network system that enables reservations and ticketing for airlines, hotels, car rentals, and more, used by travel agencies worldwide.)
■Over 100 Properties Contracted for the Relux HOTEL GDS Service
Through its partnership with Sabre Hospitality, Relux is providing participating accommodations with access to GDS distribution channels—something that has traditionally been difficult for individual properties to achieve. This initiative supports hotels and ryokans in reaching new customer segments, such as business travelers and high-net-worth individuals, by expanding into the global travel market.
Since launching the partnership with Sabre Hospitality, the number of properties contracted under the Relux HOTEL GDS service has exceeded 100, and interest from additional accommodations continues to grow.
This strong response reinforces our belief that GDS platforms are a powerful tool for connecting accommodations in Japan with travelers around the world.
■Contributing to Labor Shortage Solutions in the Hospitality Industry
According to the nationwide “Ryokan and Hotel Market Trends” survey (FY2024 outlook) released by Teikoku Databank on March 12, 2025 (*2), the domestic ryokan and hotel market in Japan is projected to reach a record high of 5.5 trillion yen in revenue for fiscal year 2024.
At the same time, addressing the growing labor shortage has become an urgent issue, driving the need for digitalization and labor-saving solutions across the hospitality industry.
Due to the complexity of system integration, high implementation costs, and operational burdens, it has historically been difficult for individual accommodation providers to adopt GDS solutions.
